Nobody sets out to stereotype but it’s easy to do. Children from 12 different countries took part in an activity about stereotypes and how they are used – even unintentionally.
48 children from around the world met at a summer camp in Brazil that was funded by momondo and run by CISV International. There, they took part in a range of education and social activities.
Two of these activites, Our Colourful World and Equally Different, are part of Open Minds, an educational programme that helps the next generation embrace diversity. The activities, part of school kits of the same name, were developed together with CISV, teachers and school children.
Both kits are available for free at letsopenourworld.com where you can also join a competition to win a school trip for an entire class! Deadline for entries is March 7th 10:00 CET 2018.
momondo supports CISV International, a global non-profit organisation dedicated to educating and inspiring action for peace. By educating the next generation, and through building intercultural friendships based on cooperation and understanding, CISV aims to help children and youth to develop the skills they need to become informed, responsible and active global citizens, able to make a positive difference in their communities and the world.
Our collaboration with CISV and the Dear mom and dad campaign are part of Let’s Open Our World; an invitation to cross boundaries, embrace our differences and open our world.
