MPs from the Rift Valley issue a 14 day ultimatum to Gov’t to pay maize farmers

A section of leaders drawn from Rift Valley region have given the government  a 14 day ultimatum to pay maize farmers their dues, failure to which they will organise demonstration in the region.
The leaders have accused  top government officials of undermining and frustrating efforts to solve the maize crisis, while demanding that former Agriculture CS Willy Bett be probed the leaders led by Cherengany MP Joshua Kutuny  and his counterpart  Alfred Keter have demanded maize prices be adjusted to 3600 shillings from the current price.
